David L. Robertson
Portraiture, Landscapes and Still Life
Website address: dlrobertsonphotography.com
David has been fascinated with photography since his introduction to black and white film photography in college where he learned to process and print his own images. He converted solely to digital photography in 2003. Since then, he has become a frequent presenter of workshops for many groups, including the Viewpoint Photographic Art Center since 2008, where he has provided instruction on digital fine art printing, Lightroom, digital conversion to black and white and, most recently, studio lighting. He has also been included in Black & White magazine on two occasions (Single Image Spotlight Winner, February 2017; Portfolio Merit Award Winner, August 2017).
David is not a formerly trained photographer, but has a voracious appetite for knowledge and the good fortune to have received mentoring from many highly talented professional photographers, including Greg Gorman, Jay Maisel, Stephen Johnson, and Lindsay Adler. He began his photographic adventure as a landscape photographer and has recently become more engaged in portraiture. He travels extensively, and documents all of his travels in personal photo books. His base of operations has been Davis, CA since 1978, where he has established a photography studio since late 2017.
